Robin Reliant's Fleet
1947 Triumph Roadster.
This car is one of the 18TR series, the first of the two series of Roadsters built between 1946 and 1949. The 18TR cars were powered by the Standard Motor Company's 1800cc OHV engine, a pre-war design fitted with a four speed gearbox and having a column change. It has a bench seat wide enough to taken three adults and has two dickey seats in the boot.  This was the last British car to feature dickey seats. The voluptuously curved body was styled by Frank Callaby and built from aluminium panels over a wooden framework fitted to a tubular steel chassis. The car was meticulously restored by its previous owner
1953 Lanchester Leda.
My Father owned a Lanchester Leda in the late 1960s and I was allowed to borrow it once I had passed my driving test. This car was bought in 2019 as a project. The engine and gearbox had been removed by the previous owner so the mechanical condition is largely unknown. The bodywork requires substantial renovation, though the chassis is believed to be sound. Time will tell...
1971 Reliant Scimitar GTE Se5a.
I have always wanted to own a Rel;iant Scimitar. The combination of styling, chassis engineering and performance from the 3 litre  V6 engine makes for a very usable and entertaining classis car. I bought this car in 2018 in a slightly run-down state. There was however a lot of history, that showed the car had been extremely well maintained during 20 years in the ownership of ex-RAF pilot but had then stood for a period. It didn't take too much work to get it running reliably again, the biggest job being to rectify a leaking head gasket. This entailed having the cylinder heads skimmed, but all the components were good to go again.
